BUYER BEWARE: NO UNIFYING CAPABILITY, LOGITECH PULLS A FAST ONE
I have been buying MK320s for our business for years. It used to be a great value, a wireless combo where, if your mouse or keyboard were to die, you can simply swap it out for another one thanks to the Unifying receiver and Logitech's Unifying Software. Not any longer. At some point in the last year, Logitech snuck in a change to the Wireless Combo MK320, presumably to cut costs, and now this combo is no longer Unifying compatible. The receiver is tied to the keyboard and mouse in the combo you bought, and that's it. There was no fanfare, no announcement, no new model number like every sane company in the world would do, they just kept selling MK320s with the new hardware and profited from their customers' ignorance of the change. I don't even know how many of these combos I've now deployed that will require full replacement before noticing the change when I needed to swap *just* a keyboard but as far as I'm concerned one is too many. Shame on you Logitech. The MK320 no longer comes packed with an M215 Mouse and K330 keyboard, instead they're bundling the M185 and a keyboard that doesn't exist in their normal model structure. It's cosmetically identical to the K330 but lacks the Unifying capability and does not have the K330 model number silk-screened onto the front. I can't even begin to describe how much a move like this insults and irritates me. If you're changing the product, you should at least announce it, if not change the model number. And you should ABSOLUTELY make sure that the world's biggest online retailer (as well as your own website) has updated information to reflect the change you've made. I can only assume that Logitech has chosen not to do so in order to pull a fast one and fool customers to buy an inferior product to what they expected. I will be investigating whether or not a competing manufacturer has an offering similar to Unifying prior to investing in ANY additional Logitech products. My loyalty to their brand is apparently worth nothing, I've heavily deployed their keyboards. mice, speakers, and various other peripherals over the years, but I will be seriously considering another manufacturer.
