I purchased 3 of these units. One of them worked just fine, but the other two 3 of the plugs didn't work at all, The power adapter outlets didn't work. I needed these in service right away, so I took it apart, and found that there is a wire going from one side of the power strip to the other side that wasn't even connected. This could cause a potential short inside the unit as the wire is just loose inside the unit.. I just soldered the wire onto the bar, and while I was at it, but more solder on the wire going to the other bar to make sure that the connections were good. All the other connections are crimp connections, and do not require solder. It was fairly easy to dissassemble the unit, and solder the wires on. It took about 5 minutes from start to finish. Now the power adapter works great. If you need a power strip with 8 outlets, and a 25 foot cord, and are willing to open the unit and solder 1 wire, it is great. We own about 10 of these and have only had this problem with 2 of them. Hopefully it is an anomoly with just the units I received. If any of them stop working, it would be pretty easy to open it up, and solder the connectors, as the 2 solder joints don't have very much solder on them anyway. I think I'll open the others up and re-solder them for good measure, so I don't have a problem in the future.
