I knew something was going to be off when I saw the price and figured they are on sale for a reason. Sure enough, the moment they arrived, it all became clear. 1) Unlike Louvre based registers, this one has a grate you slide back and forth to open or close. This robs you from a lot of air flow (50%, by default) compared to others. You WILL hear the air noise from them when your furnace is on indicating air restrictions. It's a fatal design flaw. 2) The tab used to move the grate back and forth sticks up 1/4" past the face of the grate so if you step on it, you will likely break the plastic mechanism. In our day and age, why on earth would anyone make such design? 3) The plastic mechanism is too flimsy and slides back and forth at the slightest touch. So you will likely close or open it inadvertently when you walk on it. There should have been some friction in it so it stays in the open or closed position. For all the above reasons, I recommend you look elsewhere.
