Bought this TENS unit 6 months ago. Husband has used it an average of once a week since. About 2 weeks ago it started draining the 9-volt battery after one use. At first we thought it was bad batteries or he left it on. Last night we put in a brand-new fresh battery, he turned it on, it lasted less than 10 minutes. We turned it off and set it aside while I looked through the manual. Then I smelled hot plastic. We took the battery out -- it was so hot my husband TOOK IT OUTSIDE, AFRAID IT MIGHT EXPLODE OR MELT. I don't know what might have happened if I had put the unit back in the case. Return window has closed. I AM NOT HAPPY.
