I started out liking this product, albeit a little heavy. It worked pretty good and helped the ride be more cushy. After 2 1/2 years of relatively light use, this thing snapped off at the worst possible time. I was on a steep rocky section of trail and all of a sudden had no seat! Luckily, I did not wipe out, but it was close. A close examination looks like the alloy is very brittle and was destined to fail. I have been riding mountain bikes for 30 years and have never snapped a seat post, and I have used models much cheaper than this one. Definitely NOT worth the price and dangerous.
