Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I'll have to jump in here on the price. I grew up grabbing these as soon as my father put one down. I only had a few of the paperbacks myself and so can't really remember which titles were great and which were only … I would happily jump in and purchase the whole series on Kindle for $4.99 each, maybe even $5.99 - but the current pricing is just on the edge of offensive. I want JDM's estate to make as much money as they possibly can. They deserve it. But - clearly they are getting very poor advice on price elasticity. You may sell thousands at the current price - you'd sell 10's of thousands at $5.99. And, when your marginal price to produce one is $0 (isn't the digital economy great?) - you need to ask yourself what will maximize your returns. Maybe these are so tangled up in licensing issues that this does represent a fair price. I know that I myself have my Travis McGee engine wound up and will be headed off to buy the series as used paperbacks. Royalties to the estate? Zero.
