Poor quality compared to previous models
I originally purchased the HBS-730 to use while working out and loved it! Let me start by saying that I sweat a lot more than the average person, and prior to purchasing the HBS-730, I tried headsets by Jarba, Plantronics, Motorola, Phillips, and Jaybird; of all of those Bluetooth headsets, the LG was the only one that didn't stop working within 2 weeks. Not only has it held up for through around 2 years of abuse, but it still produces a sound quality far superior to any I observed with the competition. So when I discovered that LG released an "upgraded" model, I didn't think twice about giving it a try and passing my HBS-730 off to my girlfriend. Unfortunately, this was a huge mistake on my part. The things that were good about the HBS-800 vs. the HBS-730 include: a slightly more appealing design, the blinking light that indicates the device is powered on is smaller and in a different location, and that the wires that connect to the earpiece didn't coil and tangle. The things that were not any different about the HBS-800 vs. the HBS-730 include: the sound quality, the range that the headset can travel from my phone while maintaining a good connection, and the amount of background noise I could hear while wearing the device. The things that were worse about the HBS-800 vs. the HBS-730 include: 1.) The microphone will occasionally just stop working mid-conversation. 2.) The buttons that control the volume, and that skip to the next song are much less user friendly. 3.) The magnetic area that houses the earpieces when they aren't being used is now found on the underside of the device, which makes it next to impossible to reinsert the earpieces after using the device without lifting it completely off your neck. 4.) Battery life is significantly reduced. (I had to charge the HBS-800 several times in a day when only using it to make phone calls, and when listening to music the charge didnt last more that around 2 hours and 30 minutes). 5.) The charger that is provided in the box must be connected via USB port. 6.) The device is not even slightly resistant to sweat. (The HBS-730 has lasted for 2 years with my workout schedule of 5-6 days a week, the HBS-800 stopped working after 3 workouts). So, if you have the HBS-730, and are thinking of upgrading your device to the newer model....DONT.
