This fire pit comes with a defective table, the surface of which erodes if it meets with rain. In this case it eroded in the rain WHILE COVERED with a fire pit cover that was recommended by amazon for this piece. I contacted the seller to request a refund. They said they knew about this issue (!) and would send me a replacement. As the replacement has the SAME DEFECT, they told me that I would need to take special steps to take care for it to avoid the erosion. I informed them that I did not want a replacement part and that I simply wanted to return the fire pit. They said "no"! It has been two months since I made this purchase and the company is still trying to get me to accept that they do not accept returns on this fire pit "because it is furniture" - that was one of the excuses... Obviously this company does not accept returns because they do not stand behind their products. Two days ago I left negative feedback for stores123 after being informed that either I must accept the replacement part or they would consider the case closed. No sooner did I push "publish" than my phone rang. "John Peters" from customer service said that "Bob", the manufacturer, would help me out and would I please remove my feedback because "Bob is a hardworking man just trying to make a living." I said that if I ended up a satisfied customer that I would remove the negative. This morning I received another call from John with Bob's "final decision": the same replacement table! UNBELIEVABLE! I too am a hardworking person! This is not an inconsequential purchase for me! I cannot afford a defective fire pit And so the ordeal continues... I have filed another claim. UNLESS YOU PLAN TO LOVE YOUR ITEM UNCONDITIONALLY, DO NOT PURCHASE HERE.
