I am a professional seamstress. I bought this for my 8 yr old granddaughter. She wanted to learn how to sew. It was great the first day. Had the needle guard which was great. Halfway through the 1st bobbin, thread broke. No problem, I thought. Taught her how to re thread it. The bobbin wouldn't catch. Cleaned it, took it out, replaced with a new bobbin w/ better thread. Still nothing. After a day & half working tirelessly to get it to work I did. Lasted about 20 minutes of sewing. The bobbin keeps jumping it's Casing. Took three hrs took get it working again. Another 30 minutes of sewing & same thing. If you do buy it, you will only be able to sew something thin. Do not expect to make blankets or anything w/ it. You could make an apron on it, if you could get the bobbin to work. I told my DIL this is a piece of cr@p. Let's go to Walmart. I bought her a real sewing machine for $79. She loves it & hasn't had any problems.
