Despite the claim. This does NOT have wifi built in. You use a "Gateway" module....
Overall this garage door opener seems fine. It's a bit pricey, but the concept is sound. It makes way more sense to apply rotational force to the torsion bar rather than yank the door up with a belt\chain drive. It was pretty easy to install. Probably easier than a typical garage door opener. It is very quiet compared to a chain drive opener, but the new belt and worm drive units are pretty quiet too. For the money, you should probably go with a regular overhead opener. However, if you want to retain the space above the door for storage or just enjoy the clean look like I do it's probably worth the extra bit of cash. If this ever breaks, it will be way easier to replace as well.
Now for the part that made me MAD. If it wasn't for the fact I already had this damn thing installed I would have sent it back just for the principle of it. This opener is NOT WiFi enabled as it claims. It requires the use of a "Gateway" module that connects to your router via CAT5 cable....NOT WiFi. It works, but now I have another device that is plugged into my router in the way. The fact they claim it's WiFi is a complete lie. For the cost of this there shouldn't be a compromise...and certainly not false advertising like this.
