I sent an email to customer service regarding the poor quality of the bottle after one month of use in September 2019 and I have yet to hear from them. I do not abuse my water bottles, yes I occasionally drop it by accident and assume the consequences but from after one month of day to day use, the coating started to rub off after normal twisting on/off the cap. The dent was from dropping it onto the kitchen floor, I accept that. I never use the strap and it started to rip. At first there were cracks here and there and then it completely ripped. I typically put it in my backpack. I took the bottle while traveling to Asia and Southeast Asia and put their ice and bottled water in it. I didn't want to take any chances. Does the UV technology really work? Not sure, I didn't get sick though. My family who drank the bottled water there didn't get sick nor do they own a Larq bottle. I have a friend that also owns one and the cap button didn't work after one month of use. He contacted customer service and did not receive a pleasant response. The response pretty much said, "Sorry about your bottle cap no longer working, you can purchase a new one on our website." A Larq bottle is expensive and this is the response he gets? After he threatened to take the issue to social media, they agreed to send a new cap for free. I will continue to use mine since it was a gift but I will not look to upgrade to the bigger bottle until their customer service improves. On a positive note, it does keep my water iced cold. I have had the same ice in the bottle for 48-72 hours at times, which is nice. It depends on the temperature outside and in your home. When in Thailand where the average temperature was 95 degrees F (35C) my ice did not last very long while outside. After an hour the ice had melted. When the bottle is in a room from 65 degrees F to 72 degrees F, my ice lasted 48-72 hours.
