Very Innovative... At Creating Puddles of Milk
Saw the creators of this product on Shark Tank and was very enthusiastic to help them with a product that seemed it would be so good for our toddler that we bought two cups so we'd always have a spare. What interested us so much was that they were parents just like us frustrated with what was available and they were innovative enough to engineer a solid alternative. As it turned out, the Lollacup is innovative alright -- at how it can create beautiful puddles and spills completely unassisted! We kept suffering milk messes for a while, and because we never witnessed how they started, we kept attributing them to how our son was using the cup. Eventually we did see the beginning of one of its magical spills and to our surprise, it happened all on its own. As amazed as we were, we were more angry that this product is so flawed and the inventors seem unconcerned (since the product apparently hasn't been improved at all). It seems that just normal drinking out of the cup creates a vacuum inside. Then after setting it down, the pressure slowly reverses, and as the air tries to escape through the straw, it takes plenty of milk with it. Or something. Now about the video I've attached: My son drank out of the cup several minutes earlier and set it on the floor bone dry on the outside. When I came back over to it it was the mess you see depicted and the milk was *still* dripping up out of the straw! (Pardon the darkness of the clip, but I just wanted to record it quickly and clean the mess before my son tried to pick it up and make the mess worse.) Don't waste your money on this poor excuse for a product.
