When our 10-year old De'Longhi Magnifica finally gave up the ghost we found ourselves looking for a new one. Not exactly sure why but there's ~4 different models available right now on Amazon which makes shopping REALLY difficult. From the outside they all look the same or similarly enough price really jumps out as the only difference. After pretty much guessing, we ordered the De'Longhi ESAM04110S Magnifica Fully Automatic Espresso Machine. Right out of the box it made the weakest cup of espresso I've ever had. Turn the settings to minimize water and finest grind and not much better. We thought maybe the machine just needed to break in...LOL, nope. A week and a dozen crappy espresso's later it wasn't any better. Thinking it was defective, we returned it for a replacement but found it to be no different. One thing I'll note is the the 4110S didn't seem to pack the ground espresso very well. The grounds catcher was a pile of grinds not the tightly packed pucks we were used to. Guessing again we ordered the ESAM3300. First double shot was perfect. Perfect foam, perfect color, perfect taste. Just like the machine we'd had for so many years. Now we're again ready to face the day. If you're in the same boat as us and can't decided, may lean a little heavier towards the ESAM3300.
