It could have been a great story and I thought it was at first. But Dax lacked depth. His physical interactions with Rachel were immediately lust that she went for every time, then called it love. There was a ridiculous scene where Rachel's uncle left the house so they could have sex to seal the deal. It wasn't like that in those days. I like it to be accurate. I was hoping to read a series. I give up on Shirleen.....to shallow; lust turns me off in so called historical novels.
