These lights work great as grow lights, but they're not safe. We got a 120 volt shock when a piece of craft wire connected to a grounding source happened to touch one of the mounting clips for one of these grow lights. Using a voltmeter, I determined that if the paint is scratched away from the housing of the light (which easily happens when you press it into the mounting clip) the bare metal of the housing is carrying 120 volts. A voltmeter between a scratch on the housing and ground shows 120 volts. That should never happen. These units are not wired safely.
