I hope I can help someone identify if their Marshall Monitor Bluetooth headphones are genuine. I have purchased two of these headphones, one from a third party seller, and the second from Amazon. The one from third party seller end up being a counterfeit product. The one star rating and this review is dedicated to the fake model in comparison with the genuine. You can browse through my pictures for visual signs. The genuine model I would rate 4 1/2 star. In general: - The fake does not support aptX (confirmed with an android phone). - Fake's build quality is pretty good at a glance, but you can see almost every detail there are cutting corners and rough manufacturing. - Packaging and accessories are generally of lower quality, smaller, shorter, etc. - On the fake, every hinge is loose out of the box, and headband adjustments is very rough and leave scratch marks on the band. See pictures for more visual comparison. But, how do they perform? Fake headphones: The fake one actually have a bit stronger albeit boomy bass than the genuine one. However its highs and mids are very muddy / unclear. If you prefer warmer sound with more bass you probably going to like the fake one (if you didn't realize it was fake). Also being a headphone advertised to support "ualcomm aptX" (the fake one's packaging forgot to put the letter "Q" (supposed to be "Qualcomm")), it does not actually support aptX. Genuine: Compared to the fake one, the genuine set immediately sound much clearer and brighter on the high notes. Voices also sound better and clearer. Bass is not boosted like some "extra bass" headphones, but definitely still good and detailed. The highs could be too crisp/piercing in some cases. Overall better balance and range, and in my opinion a better choice. Also being genuine and actually supporting aptX is a big plus! So far I have not experienced any hissing or any noises reported by other reviewers. I have only tested the products over short period of time. For example I have not tested battery life or long term durability of the fake model.
