I purchased this hoping that I'd be supplying more nutrition than just the sugar solution I had made before. It's clear that hummingbirds get more out of flowers than just sucrose & fructose. I had hoped to improve the nutrition of the local population when they visit my feeders. The package listing of ingredients in this product includes sugar, two preservatives & food coloring - nothing else. Hummingbirds don't need food coloring (nectar is generally clear) & I won't need a preservative if I use my home supply of table sugar and replace the solution regularly. I'll return this and I advise other potential buyers to search elsewhere if you're looking for a true nectar replacement. Otherwise, just use your own table sugar and skip the food coloring.
