This unit is junk and a flying leap backwards from the old Scott Spreader. I originally bought it to use as a ice melt spreader and that make the gearboxes pop apart in the first few minutes, there isn't a single screw holding this thing together. I have no idea why they thought putting two shotty gearboxes on a unit was better than one junk snap together gearbox. At least the cheap one I didn’t feel as bad when it inevitably breaks. So I pop it all back together and thought it might be able to handle fertilizer. I was wrong with the two impellers I was getting a skewed spread, again the old unit worked better, fertilizer from one impeller was hitting the other. This whole thing is just a marketing gimmick. I will admit it looks cool and worked on me; fool me once. I don’t get how a company that makes such amazing fertilizer and seed seem to be consistently bad at making the spreaders.
