We saw these on another site on sale and the kids were so excited about the idea of having "animal pancakes" so we went ahead and purchased the zoo and smiley face pans. I am always cautious about non stick products - but thought that since it's Nordic Ware it should be a good quality pan. I was wrong. I noticed some light specks on the pans when I opened the Nordic Ware plastic bag they came in came. I initially thought it was paper bits from the yellow Nordic Ware packaging across the center. But on closer inspection I realized that it was the non stick coating coming off of the pan! Just to be sure I rinsed the pan off in the sink with some warm water - no scrubbing or wiping- just moved it back and forth under the kitchen faucet. After drying it there were several spots where the non stick was peeling off/already peeled off. I was able to call the company I purchased it from and get a refund, but I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this pan. If you do not want your kids eating non stick coating do NOT buy this pan.
