To be clear, this review is specifically for the size small halo swaddle sleep sack. NOT the newborn size. I was in love with the newborn size swaddle, which is why I'm very disappointed to be writing this review. The swaddle part of the sleep sack is sown on differently in the two sizes. With the size small, my daughter is consistently able to get her hands through the gaps in the fabric where the swaddle is sown on, and get her hands out of the swaddle. The picture I attached is the "better" scenario of when this happens. I'd probably have given 3 stars if escaping hands were the only issue. But the problem is that a percentage of the time when she gets her hands through those gaps in the fabric, the material will actually start to cover her face. Defeats the whole purpose of having a wearable blanket, if said blanket makes it to her face anyway. When I discovered this problem I tried to squeeze her into the newborn size for as long as possible since she never can get her hands out of there (so to be clear, this issue isn't due to my baby getting stronger making her able to break free, since to this day if I put her in a size newborn it doesn't happen). But unfortunately I think she's officially too long, so our newborn swaddle days are over. I hope HALO sees this review and takes a look at the difference in product design for the two sizes, and considers fixing this safety issue.
