I recently bought this for the first time to make kimchi. Never having used it before I wasn't sure what to make of the little webby fibers that clung to the pepper flakes. I thought perhaps it was just a characteristic of the product I wasn't familiar with. I took the powder out of the bag and put it in a sealed glass jar with a clamp lid and an airtight o ring. I used it several times- kinda tasty but seemed like it should have more flavor and heat. Today, (a few months later) I went to make another batch of kimchi and opened the sealed container to find it infested with webby live and crawly worms. Completely unacceptable and disgusting. Never again.
