NOT keto or T1D friendly
My husband is an exercise physiologist who also happens to have type 1 diabetes (T1D). Being a scientist, he did a controlled test to see how much these bars raise his blood glucose. He established a baseline blood glucose reading, had no insulin on board and then ate 1/2 of the bar on an empty stomach. He then checked his blood glucose 30mins later and it had risen 25 points. If there is truly only 1 gram net carbs in 1/2 bar, his blood glucose should have only risen 3 points, not 25. By extension, an entire bar would raise his blood glucose approximately 50 points. So, is this false advertising? A problem with manufacturing and quality control? I don't know but it's totally unacceptable for a product advertised as keto-friendly and it's certainly not a good option for those with T1D.
