Propaganda at its finest
I purchased the kindle version. This book absolutely reeks of lobbying. When you look at the 5 star comments (by people who haven't even purchased the book), you'll see most people advocating for "Physician-led care." This book is propaganda being pushed by physician groups, and the obvious writing doesn't hide that. There are references from Facebook posts. Am I supposed to view a Facebook discussion as a credible source?
The book touches on some eye opening points like the educational differences between nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, and doctors. It also mentions specific cases. The problem is that these cases are all blamed on a lack of education when it likely wouldn't have made a difference what title the treating medical professional was. This book cleverly downplays the extent to which doctors make mistakes, something that I have personally experienced. Where is that case listed in this book?
Sometimes the person with the most education isn't the person with the most experience or the most expertise. THAT'S what this book fails to explain in its heavy-handed political message. Patients are certainly at risk, but its because health care isn't about the patient anymore—health care is now a pissing contest, and this book is just another "move" in the nurse practitioner vs physician assistant vs doctor war.
