First time I used it, out of the box it worked well enough. I cleaned it then, and learned in the process that it uses the cheapest screws ever and has a part on the mounting where food gets stuck underneath. If you don't remove this small plate and pull the food out, bacteria builds up so next time you use it it shoots disease all over your food. I guess other reviewers never actually tried to clean the machine after usage, which is common among people...... Anyway the problem is trying to put the screws back in is a nightmare. I couldn't even get the screws flush with the mounting, which I didn't think was a major issue until I tried to use it to cut meat slices. The blade TORE UP THE SCREWS and splashed metal shavings all over the meat. I have NO IDEA why the mounting is designed this way. It should all be one piece and it shouldn't have this little gap covered by a tiny piece of metal plating to begin with. Major design flaw.
