I guess I'm done buying Oxo brushes
I used to like Oxo brushes for their durability. But they're just not holding up anymore. I don't think it's me... after 40 years am I somehow scrubbing my pots with superhuman strength? ;) Nope! Instead, I think Oxo's Chinese manufacturers are using lower quality bristles. Probably as a cost-saving measure requested by Oxo. Here's a side-by-side picture comparison between my last Oxo brush after only 2 weeks of light use, and a brush I picked up at targette (not sure I can say the name, but you know who I mean). It was only a dollar more ($5.99 vs $4.99). This blue/green brush is made by Casabella. Plus it's actually more flexible and cleans better. Never heard of them, but it's definitely superior. I searched Amazon and they do sell Casabella brushes, but not this particular one. Gotta say, I'm lovin' it. (I really need a life, right? Lol!) This will be be my last Oxo brush. $5 is just too much to spend on a brush that can't make it through a month.
