I purchased this remote about 8 months ago (it came with the hub then) for the explicit purpose of being able to automate and control my media center. And it worked great for that purpose. For a while. Then in December of 2018 Logitech decided to remove the ability to control the hub from the local network. Which eliminated the ability to automate ANYTHING via local control. They did this under the guise of a "Security Fix" which is a flat out lie, or as some call it "PR Speak". This move is simply being done to force users to use their cloud service, which then allows Logitech to farm this data and turn around and sell it to advertisers. I will NOT be supporting this practice, and as a result will no longer purchase ANYTHING from this company until they reverse this anti-consumer decision and recommend that everyone look elsewhere for your remote control, keyboard, mouse, and other peripheral needs.
