I swear, Warner Brothers is the most incompetent entertainment business on this planet. How can they mess up BTAS on Blu-ray that bad, you ask? Well, how much time do you have? Let's start with the packaging. Design is very nice, but the discs are in sleeves. You know, the disc-ruining paper sleeves that are the bane of all media collectors? Yeah, those. Some will just see the discs as a bonus since the sets come with digital copies and not care so much about the discs. Ah, you poor fools! You poor, misguided fools! Lo, that is just the proverbial iceberg tip. The digital copy is VUDU, since Warner Brothers and Apple have some sort of blood feud. Now while that might only matter to Apple devotees, harken to my words when I say that in this case, it does matter. Because the next trick up WB's middle finger to fans is that the digital copy is SD. Yes folks, in 2018, a Blu-ray box set comes with standard definition digital files. Now, iTunes actually has HD versions ( as well as SD) of all the episodes, which is why it's absolute bull-kaka that VUDU only has SD versions. Oh, but we're not done yet! VUDU's SD episodes aren't even the nice remastered SD ones that iTunes has. They look like someone with no experience took the first-edition DVDs and ripped them with Handbrake. The quality is BAD. "Mothers having the same name being used as a major plot-point" bad. But wait, the WB middle-finger express isn't done chugging: The digital copies of the episodes don't even have the right intros. They have the "New Adventures of Batman and Superman" intros for all the episodes that I could check before chucking my phone in disgust. That's right: they have the intros for a paired cartoon series (Superman) that's not even included in the set. To heck with you if your want the original intros from 20 years ago and in every other release since. Oh, and speaking of "not-included," hope you didn't want digital copies of Mask of the Phantasm or Mystery of the Batwoman, because they ain't in there either, chief, despite being included on the physical discs. At this point, I politely demanded a return from Amazon, because my blood pressure couldn't handle checking any of the Blu-rays to see what else had been messed up with the discs themselves Stay away. Stay far, far away and don't let yourself be tempted even for a moment. Use your money for something more worthwhile, like 112 tacos, glamour shot sessions with your cat, or enough alcohol to make you think you're Batman.
