★★☆☆☆
Great, for lightweight. Heavier items are a problem.
I think this product is fantastic, as long as you're hanging tools, rakes, shovels, etc. . . I bought it mainly to hang bikes. I have six bikes, and they weigh anywhere from 10 to 35 pounds. I installed the product using a stud finder, and an impact driver. I followed the advice from woot to get different screws to replace the brittle ones they send in the package. I bought some nice Spax screws from Amazon. Once installed, I hung the bikes. a ladder, and a couple of the baskets. It took me a while to understand that any torque whatsoever other than completely vertical. If there's any pull at all outward, or diagonal. The ladder wanted to pull away the slat from the wall a couple inches, until I got it to sit perfectly where it would only apply downward pressure. Same with the bikes. Things looked okay for a month or so. We had a heat wave, and it was about 101 outside. This hangs on an exterior wall where brick is on the other side. I came home to see the bikes pulling away a bit more than usual, and I had planned to have dinner, and then shoot some photos to send over to Proslat. Before I could finish my dinner, there was an enormous crash from the garage area. I went out to find the exact scene from this photo. Bikes everywhere, and several scratches / dents on my wife's van. I wasn't angry about it. Honestly I was just relieved that my small children weren't crushed by it. A van and bikes can be repaired. And that was the attitude I brought to my call with Proslat. They seemed very apologetic, and also very surprised that my attorney wasn't calling them. I explained that I was just relieved it happened when it did, and I just want to get it fixed. They scheduled a video conference with me to look at the installation, and they thought I missed "a stud". Problem is, the bikes were spaced across 6 feet. For this to be the case, I would have had to miss many, many studs. I just don't see how it's possible using a stud-finder, and a chalk line to miss several studs. Anyway, they never showed for the video conference, and then just stopped replying to my inquiries. I guess I was too cordial, and not angry enough. Regardless, I would buy something with a better warranty, and support next time. We live and learn.
