The thing that I like most about this scoop is the coating on the sifter; this makes it quite easy to spray the surfaces clean. So as long as there're no corrosive elements left on the scoop's surface, it should last indefinitely. However, the description of it being solid metal including the handle is not at all accurate. Shortly after beginning to use the scoop, the plastic handle has loosened its grip on the small prong which extends into it; it increasingly wobbled or 'shook' and the sifter scoop portion from side-to-side. Until it was so annoying that I donated it to a thrift store. And the surprising aspect of all the disappointment with the Iprimio product is that this company apparently has never contacted or offered a refund for the customers who expressed their frustration with the dysfunctional design. Note this lack of customer care compared with the voluminous slick images and advertising on their sales page. Are these folks simply dilettantes, not serious about building a quality business? Hard to understand. In any case, I would definitely advise not to buy. The older DuraScoops that I have are better designed and really are completely solid with a coating on the handle.
