I have no problem with the kickstand itself; it may be good or bad. I didn’t get to test it. The problem is the mounting bolt which is supplied. The photo clearly shows that the longer bolt is supposed to be a hex bolt. It isn’t. It’s a bolt with a rounded head with a recessed hexagonal head. This change makes it impossible to mount securely on my Trek bicycle because there is a gearshift cable mounted directly above the space for the kickstand. There is no clearance to allow the use of an hex key. It would have been easy to secure from the side with a conventional wrench. Also I should mention that they painted the threads on the bolt so it is difficult to get on. And the hex key called for (they don’t supply one) is obviously metric and it is large. I have about three dozen hex wrenches of various sizes and none of them fit correctly anyway. Unless you have the exact size needed, get ready for a lot of unnecessary frustration.
