Wrist band gets 1 star, but not Fitbit Customer Service
Let me begin by saying Fitbit Customer Service gets 5 stars, however, the device itself didn't work from the start so, alas, 1 star for the tracker. The three problems I have with this fitness tracker are as follows: Problem 1: Every single time I attempt to sync it, it FAILS. I spent more time trying to get it to sync than actually wearing the wrist tracker. Constantly plugging in and out the Dongle into my computer's USB slot in order to try to get it to sync with the wrist band became a nightmare. It continually gave me “Not working, try again” and/or “An error occurred while syncing, try again” messages. So, I “try again” until I’m blue in the face, and then after 9 attempts, it will work once (but only once, and the dysfunctional cycle starts all over again!). Further, even IF I get it to FINALLY sync, when I try to sync it immediately after (to double check the stats), it fails AGAIN! Problem 2: The battery indicator when I first used it said it was “full,” but within 30 minutes of usage, the low battery indicator icon turned on. I then charged it for 7 hours, and still couldn’t get a “full” battery indicator icon, even though on my online Fitbit “Dashboard” it says the device is full. Problem 3: The steps are totally inaccurate. I walked an old dog leisurely for 30 minutes (taking breaks to pick up her business and going at her slow pace), and it said I walked over 3,200 steps (being that I run/walk on the treadmill at steady paces-- I 100% know that number is WRONG). Now, Customer Service is awesome, that was great, they helped me set it up and omg we had a LOT of issues doing so (it just DIDN'T WANT TO SYNC from the beginning!). Having said that, I do not have (nor desire) 20 to 30 minutes to call them for assistance every single time I want to use my Fitbit throughout the day. This device should be a “plug and play” experience — not a stressful, hair-pulling, time-consuming one. I am so disappointed, you have no idea, I really wanted it to become my weight loss pilot- tracking my steps and motivating me to move- but this one's a dud, returning it. I'm hoping a different Fitbit product will not give me the same experience.
