I bought this machine with high hopes, and based on other reviews I was quite optimistic. It arrived properly packed and everything was included as expected. Setup was simple and direct. It took only a few minutes to become familiar with the machine. Within minutes it was cleaning the pool. The machine runs around and looks quite busy as it cleans the pool; it is actually pretty fun to watch. Sort of a Jetsons meets Flipper thing. The Nautilus cleans the pool very well. I was very happily surprised at its efficiency. What I am not happy about at all are the hundreds of black streaks all over my brand new 20,000 gal gunite pool. Especially in the corners I see many many black streaks that are caused by the housing running into and rubbing along the pool walls. This is just not acceptable. I called Maytronics service. I sent them pictures of the streaks. I sent them pictures of the black housing where it was rubbed off. They told me they "had nothing to offer". If I wanted to ship the unit back, they would change the side panels to white. Then I would have white streaks all over. Wow. Now there's a solution for you! The unit works well, but I cannot have hundreds of black streaks all over. It would be a very simple fix for the company to provide a simple clear plastic or nylon bumper to prevent this problem, but they have chosen not to. My unit will be going back. Beware of this problem, buy something else that will not ruin your pool.
