Great content; offensively bad binding
I love America's Test Kitchen and everything they produce — until the day I got this book. I have many ATK books and a subscription to Cook's Illustrated. I almost never buy cooking equipment without a recommendation from them. And I rarely bother with new recipes that doesn't come from ATK (except for the ones I make up with all the cooking skills ATK has given me over the years). I was so excited when I saw this was coming out that I pre-ordered, and was just honestly happy at the thought of working my way through it with my 2-year-old twins (and my new baby boy in a few months). And now that I've got it, I can say a lot of really good things about it. Great pictures for every recipe means the kiddos have been very interested to flip through it with me. And the recipes are — as always — superb. I've already tried several that have worked beautifully, and I can honestly say that I'm excited to try most of the recipes in here. But the binding is absolutely the worst I've ever seen. I've now had this for just two days, and I've already got pages that are trying to fall out. On a book that will definitely be abused by children, this is beyond unacceptable. I know that ATK know how to bind books. I just bought their new "Vegetables Illustrated", and its binding is beautiful. But the cheap glue on this thing means that I'm here on Amazon looking for a ring binder that will fit these pages. This is the worst experience I've ever had with anything related to ATK.
