I would not recommend purchasing an Amazon Gift Card, I purchased one for a gift and the recipient attempted to use it but it would not work. I contacted Amazon and they said the card was used already. I asked them to resolve the issue and they responded that according to their records it was delivered (which I never disputed) and used so "I'm really sorry but once a gift card has been redeemed onto an account and used, it can no longer be transferred to anyone else or refunded."
