I purchased this printer for our home office as a cost effective way of printing. I have it set to print in black and white for a majority of our printing. I have been printing some color pages this week, and while I have printed about 600 pages, my original toner carts are already reduced to 0% Magenta, 20% Yellow, 30% Cyan, and 40% Black. This is extremely disheartening, and far, far below the 1,200 suggested page yield for each color toner cartridge. I bought the printer in June for $309.00, and I need to get 4 new toner carts for $500.66. INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING. UPDATE: I am delighted with a pleasant turn of events. I have concluded the issue is not the length of time the toner lasts, rather it is how the Toner Status Indicator displays the usable portion of toner left in the carts. I made hundreds and hundreds of copies after all 4 of the indicators listed the toner at 0%. I made a total of 2114 copes - black & white and color - with the carts that came with the printer before the quality was diminished enough to warrant changing the toner.
