Update. It's been less than a year and the pump stopped working. I took off 3 stars because of how difficult this is too clean, how often you have to clean it, and what happens if you don't clean it. A) it's a pain to clean. It's delicate, and you might could throw everything in the dishwasher, but it looks hand wash only. Especially the flower. It needs a tiny brush, like you would use for straws. B) you need to clean this frequently. Much more frequently than I was. At least weekly. That's an extra thing for me to do. The only reason it's not 1 star is because someone who has more time than I do could dedicate and wash this thing once a week and change the expensive filters once a week. Yes. Really change the filters that often. C) if you don't, hair gets into the main tank and clogs the pump, as well as mold. Mold everywhere. Mold in the tank. Mold in both pieces of blue that snap on. And mold all in the delicate flower. I've never had mold in a cat water bowl. I was NOT expecting mold to grow all in this thing. I've had plastic bowls, metal bowls, all kinds. And the fountain is opaque, so you can't see the mold growing. Not until you go clean it. So if you don't clean it obsessively, you won't see the mold growing. --_----------------------------- Original -------------------------------- The cats love this. They were a little hesitant at first... That whole "there's something new". But both cats really use this! I purchased this fountain because I have a cat who likes to drink out of the tub (I don't let him on counters to drink out of sinks). So when he sensed me going to the bathroom he'd race me there, almost knocking me down so he could get water out of the tub. He clearly preferred running water over the water in his bowl. Since I got the fountain, he hasn't raced me to the bathroom. I don't worry about him drinking tub water. The water in the fountain gets filtered. Here has options... He prefers to drink the water from the little pool instead of off the flower, but it's all moving and flowing. Both cats are drinking more now. The fountain is easy to refill on a daily basis, just pour water in the top, you don't have to remove anything. It's super easy to assemble, super easy to take apart and clean, the filter is easy to get to and change. If you're looking for a good, low maintenance fountain, this is it. The pump is very quiet. The only time it really makes noise is when the water is low. You can hear the water falling. You can also hear the pump struggle when the water is super low. Easy fix... Refill the water.
