This series really is woke garbage, the subplot of a taboo divorce during this time period seems to be more important to everyone and not the alien invasion, even at the time they aren't aware its aliens, a bunch of people died, the military came in, the communications wire is down and the brother of the main character-guy is still more pissed off with MCWomen and can't seems to drop it during a crisis Main guy and girl just watched people get vaporized and that they were looking for their astronomer friend who is mostly likely dead but lets drop that and talk about "i went to see my wife about our divorce papers" the subplot about the divorce is more front and center than the damn aliens
