O2 Cool brand, once the smooth Cadillac, is now the cheap Giloppy of battery-powered fans. Sad. Avoid.
O2 Cool brand used to be the top of the line when it came to battery-powered fans, but this company has seen better days. I've owned about a half-dozen O2 Cool fans over the past ten years, which I use for regular camping trips. They don't last forever (nothing does), but the materials, design, and build quality was good enough, and so I kept on buying them. NO MORE. What used to be a solid little fan has now gone the way of cheap, semi-disposable crap. I could barely get this model to start, with fresh batteries, because something about the design was preventing the batteries to sit "just so." If I pressed down on the lid, it would function, but as soon as took away the pressure, it just went off again. Took batteries out, put them in again: same problem. Also, getting the lid closed was an issue by itself, and closer inspection of the "new" locking mechanism showed that it was very cheaply designed. Gone are the days that this brand delivers reliable, battery-powered airflow, it seems; and I must now relegate it to one of the brands to avoid. They had a good thing going for a very long time, but it just looks like they got selfish and greedy, and started to cut corners, sacrificing quality in multiple areas along the way. Such a shame.
