Just canola oil. Use a synthetic oil instead.
All manufacturers are required to file an MSDS declaring the safety of their products. Google for MSDS Fellowes 35250 to see the ingredients of this “performance oil.”
It is pure Canola oil. Nothing against canola oil for cooking, but a terrible choice for lubricating machines or keeping around the office. It’s not a synthetic oil which means it turns sticky when it dries. It will gunk up your shredder and leave a very sticky and hard-to-remove mess where you store the bottle because it’s a leaky bottle and it’s inevitable for it to rest in a puddle of its oil.
Just buy a bottle of Super Lube 51004 or 51010 on Amazon or at your local hardware store and use it instead. It’s cleaner, doesn’t decompose into a sticky mess, includes PTFE (“Tefal”) to properly reduce metal-on-metal wear, and will leave your machine working properly much nicer in the long run.
