I got these A23 batteries for a small remote control, when I installed them, the remote didn't work. I pulled the battery out, put it on the battery tester. The tester pegged up to the maximum, way over full charge and then proceeded to drop perceptibly right before my eyes down to the other end of the scale. The worst part was the battery started getting hot after i put it on the tester. It got hot enough that I couldn't hold it anymore. I literally took it outside for fear that it might burst into flames or even explode. OK, I figured, maybe it's a bum battery. Its an odd size, maybe one got old. I'll try the other one. And yup, the exact same thing happened again. Doesn't work, spikes then drains on the tester, then gets really hot. A waste of money.
