My dog looooved these bones. He loved them so much that he ingested a piece which then caused a severe diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. The vet determined that there was a blockage and he required surgery totaling $4000. As other reviews have mentioned, the bone doesn't show up on X-rays, and was only discovered through an ultrasound. The ultrasound was highly recommended by our vet to rule out pancreatitis, and it was only through the ultrasound that we discovered that there was actually a blockage. If we had decided to forego the ultrasound and stick to supportive care (another option), he could've died. The pieces break off way too easily to be considered safe even for a moderate chewer. I urge you to not buy this product. My dog is currently home recovering and I am so fortunate that they managed to figure out the problem. It is so disappointing that such an established and well-respected pet company continues to sell products that endanger the safety and welfare of their users. This doesn't appear to be an isolated based on other reviews and I would hate for another dog to have to go through what my dog is going though right now.
