Skimped big time on quantity
Boy was I disappointed when I opened my package today. I have been making milk kefir for years now and I like to occasionally buy new grains to mix in with mine. I figured since over 4 years some of the strains of bacteria/yeast in them may have died out some new grains help out in keeping them vigorous and reintroduce any good bacteria mine my be lacking in. So far that has worked well for me. $5.69 seemed reasonable to get a small batch of grains. Some other customer photos showed a ziplock with grains and milk, and it looked like a decent enough amount for what I needed. They did ship quickly, within hours of ordering I got an email saying they had shipped and I got them today (2 days later). They describe their product as being "shipped in milk" and "produce the highest quality milk kefir possible"...but boy did they skimp on quantity.
The tiny package had 2 small grains with a tiny bit of milk, the entire amount fit in half a tablespoon with room to spare. For a little over $10 including the shipping ( 4.49 even thought it barely cost 2 dollars to send it via USPS in a lightly padded envelope) I was hoping for at least a couple of spoonfuls to get started, I am seriously skeptical that less than 1/2 a tablespoon will culture the 1/2 cup of milk the included instructions say it will. There are only 2 little grains in there. I did put them in their own little jar of milk to baby them along and get them growing anyway. I am very surprised since I ordered from this vendor based on good reviews from people saying their shipments were generous. I'll upload some photos to show just how little came in my shipment. I hate to leave a bad review but in no way would I consider what I received being worth $10.
