Breaks after less than a year of use, could be the safety fuse BUT...the bottom of the kettle is held in place by what can only be China-specific 3-slotted screws. So, I can't replace the fuse (as another user suggested). Hamilton-Beech's recommendation? Send back the kettle and get a replacement...shipping at buyer expense BOTH WAYS. So...shipping would be > cost of new kettle. Guess I'll be getting a new kettle, but Hamilton Beach will never get a cent from me again. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID - BUY A BRAUN OR OTHER RELIABLE BRAND THAT WILL LAST LONGER THAN 8 MONTHS.
