Garbage! Stay Away!
I ordered this "GripGo" product from their site (not Amazon) and I am completely unhappy with the whole transaction and the product. Here's is my letter I wrote to them when I sent back the mounts: "To Whom It May Concern, I am returning these mount with the intent of obtaining a full refund. I received the GripGo "Deluxe" Cell Phone Mounts yesterday, and I am completely dissatisfied with them. Not only do they not live up to my expectations, let alone what they are advertised to do, but I am not satisfied with the whole entire transaction for this product. Firstly, let me start with ordering the product. The first few website windows when ordering went okay. I chose to upgrade to the "deluxe" model for an extra ten-dollars, which in my mind, for what I thought I was getting was not a bad price. Then one of the next windows asked if I wanted to order a second one ("just pay for the shipping and handling"), okay fine, it does not seem like that much more. I entered my payment info, and clicked the button to go to the next page thinking it would take me to a page to review my order before placing it, but NOPE, next button just went ahead and placed the order. Very sketchy, borderline dishonest. Any Web Design 101 class tells you to let your "customer" (sucker, in your case?) review their purchase before placing it. All the honest website order processes let you do this. Why not yours? I would have stopped the order at the review page, because when I saw the "your order has been processed" form with my order details I was not happy with the price (okay, I take some blame for this. I should have been adding this up in my head.). If I had a chance to review I would have cancelled the process just because of the shipping price. This is almost double any other cell phone wind shield mount found on Amazon. Ridiculous. I tried calling the customer service number but of course it was Saturday and no one was working and Monday was MLK Day, so by Tuesday I did not want to deal with it anymore and decided to just give the product a try. Boy, was that a mistake. The second aspect I am not happy with is the design of the product. The arm for the mount is too long. I had the dashboard mount plate fastened securely to my dash board (cleaned the surface and stuck it to the dash while the interior of the car was warm) and between the extension of the arm with the weight of my phone (HTC Evo 3D, 170 grams) it pulled the dashboard mount plate off the dashboard. The arm needs to be shorter, bringing the center of gravity closer to the suction cup. When the phone was on the windshield the length of the arm was again a factor because the phone would shake from road vibrations (even on a smooth highway) because the arm is too weak to hold the phone securely. Lastly, the design of the clear/green "stick" pad itself. It just doesn't have the strength to hold a cell phone. Brand new, straight out of the package, without touching the pad I stuck my phone directly to the pad. My phone stayed attached for maybe five minutes, and that was the record. Any attempt after that lasted less than that. I always charge my phone when I am in the car and when I plugged my charger into the phone with the phone on the mount pad, it stayed in place for less than two minutes. Maybe this product would have worked with phones back when all people did with them was make phone calls, but phones are just too heavy for this product now. Now, I read the instructions that came with the product, stating that silicone cases will not stick to the pad. I have a hard plastic case for my phone, so I did not think that was the problem, so I washed that pad (with warm soapy water and let air dry as instructed, which by the way, the pad definitely did not have the same "stickiness" afterwards) and tried another hard plastic case. The phone fell off the pad again within a few minutes. Next, I removed the case completely and placing the phone directly (without a case) to the pad. Same result. Fell off in a few minutes."
