Poorly organized collection of recipes not for real cooks
I like using fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch. While I don't object to canned tomatoes or beans, many of the recipes in this book call for condensed soups and lots of other processed ingredients like prepared meatballs, canned and frozen vegetable, and processed cheese spread. I find some of these ingredients downright disgusting. Canned soups are full of sodium and low in nutrition. The manner in which the recipes are organized is difficult to navigate. We start with Best Loved Dinners then Crowd Pleasers, Weeknight Winners, Cooking Across America, Winter Warmup, etc, etc, etc. If I want to make chicken, just give me the chicken recipes without making me scan through the whole freaking book! Working off the index is a pain, and time consuming. I've ordered another book on slow cookers, "Not Your Mother's". Hope to like it a lot better.
