★★☆☆☆
Disappointing simplicity
I bought this book for my 8-year-old and me to have daily discussions about gratitude, to encourage awareness and mindfulness. As the description mentions, the book asks the reader to think about three things for which they are thankful and someone that brought them joy, and it asks the reader to write or draw about the best part of their day. While I appreciate these topics, it’s important to know that this book repeats the exact same journal entry template for every single day, with an alternative exercise every tenth page or so. So the vast majority of this book is the same page repeated many times over. While I appreciate the topics on that singular page, I was hoping the book would help to facilitate some variety in discussion and approach. Perhaps this book would be better for a much younger child.
