Horrible ! Better off dealing with child being sad for not getting, then to buy this junk.
Really awful product. To answer some questions, this is for 9 or 10 and up children who have a lot of patience and moms who have a lot of patience. This is NOT a do-it-herself project for a kid to play with. This is All-Mommy-hands-put-the-baby-down-dinner-be-damned-poor-wine project (and mess.) The idea of this is so much better than the execution.
The chocolate tubes have to be melted in hot water, so you have to put the tubes in coffee cups that you know your child can handle.
You have to use all of one color up, then all of the other. You cannot switch back and forth between tubes because the 'tip' will get full of hardened chocolate that can only be washed out (so 20 minutes later.)
You have to hold the pen upside down when you fill it, otherwise the 'plunger' is at the bottom and it takes 3 mins for the chocolate to start coming out....3 minutes that the cholate inside the pen is hardening mind you.
You HAVE to leave that 'cover tip" on or your are screwed (and by screwed I mean the baby is still crying, dinner is no where near being ready and you have to fix this for 20 minutes instead)
Do NOT put the chocolate tubes down on your granite. They will instantly solidify due to the thermodynamics of granite and heat transfer. Keep the tubes in the hot water.
It would have been better to have gotten her molds, and chocolate melts and a Milton cake decorating tips set that uses hand pressure other than the stupid battery thing.
Oh, and while holding your crying baby with one hand, reassuring your devastated 9 year old that she isn't inept, be sure to use a scraper to get all the chocolate mess off the counter...and then immediately rinse out the tips with hot hot hot water to get the solidified chocolate out....so you can play again tomorrow...yay!
