I got the stove for a hunting trip that I am currently on. I had tested the stove a few times before my trip and really liked it until last night. Last night around midnight I got up and set one log on the coals stoked the stove for about 2 min then closed the intake and flu part way to slow the burn. At about 1:30 am I woke up with a pounding head coughing. I realized my wall tent was full of smoke. I got up opened the flaps on the tent and turned on my flashlight waking up 2 other guys with the commotion. One of them said that does not smell like normal smoke. So we went back in to put the stove out and realized the smoke was coming from the coating on the stove top and back. Mind you I have had 3 previous fries in the stove. All burning 3-20 logs to ash and none of them did this. I am currently sitting in a hospital in a tiny town in Utah because of the smoke. If you are going to make a stove make sure the coating you use can handle wood stove temps!
