This is not a smart buy. The quality of the construction is extremely poor. The material is particle board with a cheap laminate which will peel up and wear with normal usage. The shelves are not sturdy enough to properly support the weight of books. Within a year, they sag and bend visibly. Avoid this and similar products. Spend the extra money and get bookshelves made of real wood or metal, which will last for many years - even generations. I still have some inherited wood bookshelves from my grandparents, and they have not sagged at all after holding books for over 50 years. That is how furniture should be built. Avoid this poor furniture.
