Worthless Product
In order for systemic enzymes like nattokinase and serrapeptase to work, they have to survive the stomach's acid bath long enough to reach the alkaline environment of the intestines. Doctor's Best Nattokinase fails to survive the stomach. I purchased the product to break down some painful scar tissue (along with a bottle of serrapeptase), recalling that a former girlfriend of mine burned her left leg in 2007, and had a scar four inches in diameter. She used a bottle of Vitalzym to dissolve the scar, and in three months it was the size of a dime. Now, eleven years later, the scar is no more. I should have purchased Vitalzym, because the manufacturer specially coats the enzymes, suspended in liquid, to survive the stomach, reach the intestines, and enter the bloodstream. I have emptied a 270 count bottle of each serrapeptase and nattokinase from Doctor's Best and there is no appreciable reduction in scar tissue; even little scars on my forearms, five millimeters in diameter, are still the same size. The body decides where enzymes are most needed, but there has been no reduction in ANY of my scars. Avoid this product. I must have been writing about my experience with Vitalzym when I wrote my earlier review, and I found an empty bottle of Vitalzym in my supplement cabinet yesterday (1NOV18).
